We are seeking a highly skilled Senior GL Accountant to join our team at Lynd Management Group, LLC. The successful candidate will be responsible for the accurate and timely production of monthly financial statements for an assigned portfolio, as well as supporting the review and oversight of financial statements generated by other GL accounting associates.
Key Responsibilities- Financial Statement Preparation: Prepare and review association financial statements, P&L variances, bank account and other balance sheet reconciliations.
- Banking and Cash Management: Prepare, review, and resolve banking issues, including the processing of bank account transfers, and monitor bank accounts to identify excess funds for opportunities to improve client investment income.
- Audit and Compliance: Analyze and post adjusting audit entries related to external annual audits and reviews, and support management in the preparation of annual operating budgets.
- Expense Management: Review expense coding and approve invoices in the RealPage Onesite, and assist with review of association shortfall funding requests, as necessary.
- Financial Analysis: Identify and research variances or unexplained items on the Income Statement and Balance Sheet, making adjusting entries and reclasses as appropriate, and prepare monthly cash flow forecasts and special financial reports as needed.
- Communication and Collaboration: Communicate with management, developers, and/or bank representatives, as needed, and collaborate with independent CPA firms in their audit or review of associations.
- Process Improvement: Identify opportunities to streamline processes, improve workflows, and mitigate risk, while ensuring accuracy and timeliness.
- Training and Development: Prepare and conduct trainings for community management and accounting personnel for standard operating procedures or other relevant accounting concepts, and support the training and mentoring of new GL accountants.
- Bachelor's Degree plus 4 additional years of related experience beyond the minimum required may be substituted in lieu of a degree.
- Proven work experience as a Certified Public Accountant or Senior Accountant.
- Understanding of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP).
- Thorough knowledge of accounting and financial procedures.
- Experience with RealPage Onesite software.
- Proficient in Microsoft Suite.
- Advanced MS Excel knowledge (familiarity with formulas, VLOOKUPs, and pivot tables).
- Excellent analytical skills with an attention to detail.
- Integrity, with an ability to handle confidential information.
- Excellent written and communication skills.
