Speech-Language Pathologist Job Description

We are currently partnering with a reputable school district in Sherman, TX, and seeking a dedicated Speech-Language Pathologist to join their team for the upcoming school year.

Job Summary:

As a Speech-Language Pathologist, you will play a crucial role in helping students overcome communication and speech disorders, enabling them to achieve academic success and social integration. In this position, you will work closely with students, teachers, and parents to assess, diagnose, and treat speech and language impairments.

Responsibilities:
  • Assessment and Diagnosis: Conduct comprehensive evaluations to assess students' speech and language abilities, and develop individualized treatment plans based on evaluation results.
  • Therapy Services: Provide direct therapy services to students with speech and language disorders, and monitor progress.
  • Collaboration: Collaborate with teachers, parents, and other professionals to ensure effective communication and support.
  • Documentation: Monitor and document students' progress, adjusting treatment plans as needed.
  • IEP Meetings: Participate in Individualized Education Program (IEP) meetings and contribute to the development of students' educational goals.
Qualifications:
  • Education: Master's degree in Speech-Language Pathology or Communication Sciences and Disorders.
  • Licensure: Valid license to practice as a Speech-Language Pathologist in the state of Texas.
  • Certification: Certification from the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association (ASHA) preferred.
  • Experience: Prior experience working with school-aged children is desired.
  • Skills: Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, ability to work collaboratively with a multidisciplinary team, and strong organizational and time management skills.
