About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Registered Nurse to join our team at Samaritan Healthcare. As a key member of our healthcare team, you will be responsible for providing exceptional patient care and support to our patients and their families.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assess and evaluate patient needs, developing and implementing individualized care plans to ensure optimal patient outcomes.
  • Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to coordinate patient care, including physicians, nurses, and other healthcare professionals.
  • Provide education and support to patients and their families, promoting health literacy and empowering them to take an active role in their care.
  • Participate in quality improvement initiatives, contributing to the development and implementation of evidence-based practices that enhance patient care and outcomes.
  • Communicate effectively with patients, families, and healthcare teams, ensuring seamless care transitions and coordination.
Requirements
  • Graduation from an accredited school of nursing.
  • Current Washington State RN licensure.
  • Experience as an acute care registered nurse preferred, with a minimum of one year of RN experience in a specialty nursing department.
  • Ability to perform the primary functions of a Registered Nurse in assessing, planning, implementing, and evaluating the care of all assigned patients.
  • Healthcare Provider (HCP) Level of Basic Life Support (BLS) certification within 30 days of hire, with American Heart Association (AHA) or equivalent certification.
Preferred Qualifications
  • PACU experience, with ACLS (AHA Advanced Life Support) certification within six months of hire and renewed every two years.
  • PALS (AHA Pediatric Advanced Life Support) or PEARS (AHA Pediatric Advanced Emergency Assessment, Recognition, and Stabilization) certification within six months of hire and renewed every two years.
  • CAPA certification preferred.
Physical Requirements
  • Frequent standing, walking, lifting, reaching, kneeling, bending, stooping, pushing, and pulling.
  • Manual dexterity, light physical effort, ability to lift/carry up to 30 pounds (supplies and equipment).
  • Physical strength to perform CPR (bed/floor), lift, and push/pull 60 to 300 pounds (with assistance) as often as 20 times per 8 to 12 hours.
  • Keen mental faculties to perform assessment and decision-making skills in the management of acutely ill patients.
  • Good reading eyesight, with the ability to see clearly 20 feet or more, judge distance and space relationships, and see peripherally.
Competencies
  • Critical thinking skills, with the ability to seek resources for direction, perform independent problem-solving, and make logical and deliberate decisions.
  • Demonstrate accountability, practicing within legal and ethical guidelines.
  • Crisis management.
  • Demonstrate competency in caring for customers/patients across the age continuum.
  • Demonstrate competency on equipment listed on department-specific checklists.
