The Nutritional Services Associate is responsible for preparing and delivering meals to patients, visitors, and staff within a healthcare setting. This role involves maintaining cleanliness in food service areas and ensuring accurate communication of dietary requirements for patient meals in accordance with established protocols.
ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES
- Prepares and serves meals in alignment with departmental standards and pre-defined tasks, ensuring accurate portioning for all individuals.
- Manages incoming calls and communications within the department, adhering to service excellence principles.
- Processes and maintains patient dietary orders, engaging with patients to collect their meal preferences.
- Timely delivery and collection of food carts, ensuring patient trays are accurate and comply with dietary prescriptions.
- Adjusts menus to reflect any necessary therapeutic diet modifications.
- Effectively communicates special dietary requests to the production team and completes necessary forecasting documentation.
- Conducts cleaning duties in designated areas, following established schedules and safety protocols.
- Employs proper food handling and storage techniques throughout the food preparation process.
- Undertakes additional tasks as assigned, ensuring all responsibilities are completed efficiently.
QUALIFICATIONS
Minimum
- High School diploma or GED is required.
Preferred
- At least one year of experience in food service or customer relations is preferred.
- Experience in high-volume institutional food service settings is advantageous.
- Basic computer proficiency is beneficial.
- Familiarity with dietary guidelines and terminology is preferred.
