Job Title: Staff Software Engineer

ServiceNow is seeking a highly skilled Staff Software Engineer to join our team. As a Staff Software Engineer, you will be responsible for defining a brand-new, modern app developer experience for the ServiceNow platform.

You will work closely with product owners to understand detailed requirements and own your code from design, implementation, test automation, and delivery of high-quality products to our users. Your focus will be on building high-quality, clean, scalable, and reusable code by enforcing best practices around software engineering architecture and processes.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Define a brand-new, modern app developer experience for the ServiceNow platform
  • Work with product owners to understand detailed requirements and own your code from design, implementation, test automation, and delivery of high-quality products to our users
  • Build high-quality, clean, scalable, and reusable code by enforcing best practices around software engineering architecture and processes
  • Implement software that is simple to use to allow customers to extend and customize the functionality to meet their specific needs
  • Contribute to the design and implementation of new products and features while also enhancing the existing product suite
  • Be a mentor for colleagues and help promote knowledge-sharing

Requirements:

  • 10+ years of experience with JavaScript, TypeScript, or similar languages
  • Passion for the JavaScript and TypeScript ecosystem, with a broad understanding of the development landscape
  • Deep understanding of the JavaScript runtime
  • Experience with modern server-side JavaScript frameworks such as Express, Koa, or NestJS
  • A strong focus on building world-class developer experiences
  • Advanced knowledge with data structures, algorithms, object-oriented design, design patterns, and performance/scale considerations
  • Advanced knowledge experience working with relational databases including development, troubleshooting, and performance optimization
  • Experience with multiple technology stacks: Cloud Dev, Platforms, Web Dev, Frameworks, or service-oriented architecture
