Job Summary

The Medical Equipment Technician is responsible for the efficient cleaning and maintenance of medical equipment at Medcare Equipment Company. This role involves performing daily cleaning and care of equipment, tracking each piece of equipment cleaned, and inspecting, adjusting, and/or lubricating equipment according to specifications.

Key Responsibilities
  • Cleaning and Maintenance: Perform daily cleaning and care of medical equipment utilizing established department work standards and follows proper cleaning guidelines, utilizing the proper Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).
  • Equipment Tracking: Accurately track each piece of equipment cleaned and maintained.
  • Inspection and Repair: Inspect, adjust, and/or lubricate equipment according to specifications. Make minor repairs when needed.
  • Quality Control: Monitor and report abnormal wear and tear to equipment that may be caused by customer misuse or abuse.
  • Scheduling: Follow established maintenance and cleaning schedule for each piece of equipment per specific equipment procedure requirements and per Manufacturer's recommendations.
  • Logistics: Assist with unloading equipment that needs to be cleaned, placing it in the proper dirty staging area, ensuring not to travel through clean area with dirty equipment.
Requirements
  • Education: High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • Skills: Must be organized and detail-oriented, with the ability to follow verbal and written instructions and specifications. Basic Math proficiency is required.
  • Physical Demands: Lifting up to 50 pounds frequently, standing and walking for long periods of time, and ability to use dolly or hand cart to push/pull larger items of significant weight. Constantly required to kneel, stoop, bend, reach, or crawl.
