Cardiovascular Technician

Job Summary

This position is responsible for providing high-quality patient care and technical support in the cardiovascular laboratory. As a Cardiovascular Technician, you will be an integral part of a multidisciplinary team working together to ensure the best possible outcomes for our patients.

Responsibilities

• Perform and interpret EKGs, including basic and advanced analysis, to identify cardiac arrhythmias and ischemic patterns.

• Assist with electrophysiology procedures, including mapping, ablation, and implantation of cardiac resynchronization devices.

• Monitor and record arterial and venous pressures, as well as perform basic interpretation of these readings.

• Set up and maintain scrub procedures in both cath and EP labs, adhering to standard precautions and infection control guidelines.

• Prepare instruments and equipment for decontamination and sterilization, following universal precautions and hospital policy.

• Assist in room cleaning and restock procedure rooms after each case, ensuring a safe and efficient work environment.

• Check and calibrate recording equipment, troubleshoot basic issues, and report malfunctions to the Nurse Manager.

• Serve as a resource person for the care, maintenance, and use of specialized equipment in the lab.

• Communicate effectively with team members, physicians, and other healthcare professionals to ensure seamless patient care.

• Maintain patient, medical record, department, and employee confidentiality at all times.

• Participate in department staff meetings, contribute to discussions, and demonstrate a positive attitude towards teamwork and collaboration.
