Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Deputy Clerk to join our team in the Motor Vehicle Division of Gilpin County. As a Deputy Clerk, you will be responsible for performing a wide range of technical and administrative tasks, including title and registration processing, customer service, and data entry.

Key Responsibilities
  • Title and Registration Processing: Verify title documents, process title transactions, and ensure compliance with state and federal laws.
  • Customer Service: Assist citizens with licensing, titling, and filing motor vehicle documents, and provide excellent customer service.
  • Data Entry: Accurately and efficiently enter data into our computer system, maintaining accurate and up-to-date records.
  • Other Duties: Perform various administrative tasks, including answering phones, responding to emails, and maintaining a clean and organized workspace.
Requirements
  • Education: High school graduate or equivalent.
  • Experience: Two years of increasingly responsible experience in a County Motor Vehicle Division.
  • Skills: Advanced knowledge of computers, modern office practices, and vocabulary, grammar, punctuation, and spelling.
  • Ability: Ability to operate a personal computer, telephone, 10-key calculator, facsimile machine, printer, copier, and other office equipment.
Working Conditions

The work environment is moderate, with occasional distractions. The physical demands of the job include sitting, talking, stooping, and hearing. The employee is required to walk, use hands to finger, handle or feel objects, tools, or controls, and reach with hands and arms.
