About the Role

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Nursing Assistant to join our team at St. John's Hospital in Maplewood, MN. As a member of our interdependent team, you will be accountable for providing patient care duties and activities for a group of patients.

Responsibilities
  • Perform vital sign checks, bladder scanning, blood sugar testing, and documentation of cares provided
  • Report patient care data and progress of outcomes to designated RN
  • Support the Nursing Process to achieve outcome-focused patient care
  • Communicate accurately and efficiently with patient/family and healthcare team members
  • Reinforce patient education as advised by clinical staff
  • Document patient information in EHR and/or other electronic system in accordance with program standards, department policies/procedures
Requirements
  • Successful completion of Fairview's OnTrack Nursing Assistant training program or another Fairview-sponsored Nursing Assistant program
  • Or six months of recent direct care experience in a long-term, home care, or acute care setting
  • Or current enrollment in an LPN, RN, or Nurse Practitioner program, and completion of one semester of clinical rotation within the program
  • Or current certification on the Minnesota Nursing Assistant Registry upon hire
  • Basic Life Support (BLS for Healthcare Providers) certification required
