Frozen Food and Dairy Clerk Job Description

We are seeking a highly motivated and customer-focused Frozen Food and Dairy Clerk to join our team at Big Y. As a key member of our sales team, you will be responsible for providing exceptional customer service, maintaining a clean and organized store environment, and driving sales growth through effective product presentation and sales techniques.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide World Class customer service and create a positive shopping experience for our customers.
  • Build relationships with customers and educate them on our products to drive sales growth.
  • Price, rotate, stock, face, and level product to ensure a visually appealing store environment.
  • Assist in receiving, unloading, verifying, and storing product to ensure accurate inventory levels.
  • Maintain pricing accuracy and ensure that all products are properly labeled and priced.
  • Maintain proper department conditions and supplies, including the shelf, case, sales floor, backroom, freezer, and cooler.
  • Operate and clean equipment/machinery as needed.
  • Represent Big Y's Mission and Vision by demonstrating a passion for food and a commitment to excellence.
  • Work collaboratively with the sales team to achieve sales goals and objectives.
  • Ability to work a flexible schedule in accordance with the needs of the store.

Requirements:

  • Ability to work in a fast-paced retail environment.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and stand for long periods of time.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Basic math skills and accuracy with handling cash and operating a point-of-sale system.
