Job Summary

The Facilities Maintenance Technician is responsible for the preventative maintenance, troubleshooting, diagnosing, and repairing of commercial HVAC systems. This is a 1st shift position that requires a high level of technical expertise and attention to detail.

Responsibilities
  • Perform preventative maintenance on HVAC systems to ensure optimal performance and efficiency.
  • Troubleshoot and diagnose issues with HVAC systems, identifying and resolving problems in a timely manner.
  • Repair and replace HVAC system components, including compressors, condensers, evaporators, motors, and temperature/humidity controls.
  • Install and align new equipment, ensuring proper fit and function.
  • Maintain accurate records of inventory, requisitions, and materials needed for each job.
  • Recommend improvements and changes to increase quality and efficiency.
  • Work independently on complex projects, providing direction to assistants or less experienced maintenance staff as needed.
  • Perform various tasks or projects as assigned by management.
  • Communicate effectively with external and internal customers, management, and contractors.
Qualifications
  • Five years of commercial HVAC experience (or related military experience).
  • Technical degree or equivalent experience.
  • EPA certification preferred.
  • Solid electrical and mechanical skills.
  • Strong communication skills and commitment to RMS Company work rules.
  • 100% dedication to working safely.
  • Previous experience coordinating with contractors on services and new installations.
  • Self-motivated and capable of working in a team environment with minimal supervision.
Physical Demands
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. and to stand, bend, and stoop.
  • Ability to stand for long periods of time.
  • Intermittent exposure to safe levels of cleaning solutions, solvents, and solder fumes.
  • Ability to work in a manufacturing environment, around machinery that may be exposed to oils and solvents.
