Job Overview:
We are seeking a dedicated OBGYN Hospitalist to join our esteemed Women's Health Clinical Service Line. This role is pivotal in delivering exceptional care to mothers, infants, and families, encompassing a wide range of services from obstetrics to gynecology.
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver comprehensive in-house obstetrical coverage for the labor and delivery unit, as well as antepartum and postpartum units.
- Perform essential procedures including emergency cesarean sections, spontaneous and operative vaginal births, and postpartum tubal ligations.
- Manage care for patients without an assigned physician, particularly those requiring urgent obstetric interventions.
- Provide surgical assistance and support to attending Obstetricians as necessary.
- Conduct thorough reviews of patient medical histories, ensuring the collection and prioritization of relevant health data.
- Offer education and treatment plans to patients and their families, fostering informed decision-making.
- Practice with a strong emphasis on cultural sensitivity, individual rights, and legal obligations.
- Engage actively in a multidisciplinary team approach to optimize patient care.
- Address gynecological concerns in the Emergency Department, utilizing basic surgical skills as required.
- Flexibility to cover multiple facilities as needed.
Qualifications:
- MD, DO, or equivalent international training is required.
- Board Eligible/Certified in Obstetrics and Gynecology.
- Possession of an active, unrestricted medical license in Minnesota or the ability to obtain one.
- Capability to secure and maintain DEA certification and National Provider Identifier (NPI).
- Fulfillment of credentialing criteria and hospital privileges.
- BLS Tier 3 certification required within six months of employment.
