Position Details
Shift: 7pm - 7:30am / Full-time / 36 Hours
Role Summary
We are looking for a Charge Nurse to oversee the operations of the 4B Moderate Care Unit, a dynamic and fast-paced environment characterized by a high turnover of patients and diverse medical conditions. This role will serve as an excellent platform for gaining extensive experience in cardiovascular procedures and diagnoses, enhancing your organizational and critical thinking skills, and refining your assessment capabilities.
This unit comprises a 12-bed, 24-hour observation area that caters to patients from the entire heart and vascular service line. The patient population will include critical care individuals awaiting transfer to specialized units, as well as those requiring extended monitoring after same-day procedures.
Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Nursing.
- At least two years of experience as a Registered Nurse, with a minimum of two years in a relevant specialty.
- Possession of a valid, active, unencumbered Nursing license or a temporary permit approved by the Georgia Licensing Board.
- Certification in relevant areas is preferred.
- BLS certification is required.
- Internal promotions or external hires must complete UCN/SNM criteria within nine months of their appointment, including communication training and preceptor workshop participation.
- Oversee and coordinate daily operations of the assigned clinical unit during your shift.
- Supervise nursing staff and facilitate effective communication with physicians and administrative personnel to ensure optimal patient care.
- Act as a change agent, leading initiatives to enhance organizational systems aligned with departmental goals.
- Employ creative problem-solving and conflict resolution skills while collaborating with team members.
- Exhibit sound judgment and risk assessment in clinical decision-making.
- Provide mentorship to fellow Registered Nurses, guiding them in the Charge Nurse role.
- Conduct evaluations of resource utilization and cost management strategies.
- Promote a culture of open communication and teamwork among staff members.
