Position Overview

Organization: Gold's Gym Washington

Schedule: Typical practice hours are from 4 PM to 8 PM, Monday through Friday, and Saturday mornings from 7 AM to 11 AM.

Role Summary

Gold's Gym Washington is in search of dedicated and skilled individuals to fill the role of Swim Coach. In this position, you will be tasked with creating and executing a thorough training regimen for swimmers across various age groups and skill levels. Your role will involve offering direction, instruction, and encouragement to athletes while cultivating a supportive and inclusive team culture.

Key Responsibilities
  • Design and manage a structured swim program that aligns with the objectives of Gold's Gym Washington.
  • Develop and implement targeted training strategies to enhance swimmers' technique, stamina, and overall performance.
  • Conduct regular practice sessions and provide on-deck coaching during designated training periods.
  • Assess swimmers' development, pinpoint areas for enhancement, and deliver personalized feedback and guidance.
  • Organize and oversee participation in swim competitions, including registration, event selection, and travel logistics.
  • Collaborate with fellow coaches to ensure uniform coaching practices and maintain a unified team environment.
  • Maintain open communication with swimmers, parents, and management regarding practice schedules, competition outcomes, and other essential updates.
  • Work alongside other coaches to facilitate smooth transitions for swimmers advancing through different training levels.
  • Stay informed about the latest coaching techniques, training methods, and competitive developments within the swimming sector.
  • Comply with all organizational policies, procedures, and safety protocols.
Qualifications
  • Demonstrated coaching experience with a successful history of developing swimmers at various levels.
  • In-depth knowledge of swimming techniques, training methodologies, and competitive tactics.
  • Strong leadership capabilities and the ability to inspire and motivate athletes to reach their maximum potential.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, enabling effective collaboration with swimmers, parents, and staff.
  • Current certifications in lifeguarding, CPR, and First Aid (or willingness to obtain upon hiring).
  • Familiarity with meet management software and the capacity to analyze and interpret race results.
  • Understanding of USA Swimming regulations (if applicable).
  • Availability for flexible hours, including evenings and weekends, to accommodate training sessions and competitions.
  • A genuine passion for swimming and a commitment to fostering sportsmanship, teamwork, and personal development.
