About the Position

We are seeking a highly skilled Cryogenics Facility Manager to join our team at the University of Pittsburgh. As a Research Assistant Professor, you will be responsible for overseeing the operation and maintenance of the Pitt Cryogenics Plant and recovery network.

Key Responsibilities
  • Oversee the daily operation of the cryogenics plant, ensuring maximum recovery and efficiency.
  • Coordinate maintenance and reporting efforts with the Shared Research Support Services team.
  • Design and optimize new and existing cryostats and components with the Director of Quantum Infrastructure and faculty.
  • Provide advanced component maintenance and training to graduate students and postdoctoral scholars.
  • Collaborate with faculty on proposal submissions and contribute to a diverse and inclusive research environment.
Requirements

We are looking for a candidate with a Ph.D. or equivalent in Engineering or Physics or a closely related discipline. Experience with cryogenic equipment, including helium recovery plants and dilution refrigerators, is essential. Strong communication and leadership skills are also required.
