POSITION OVERVIEW
The Operating Room Nurse is responsible for the independent planning, execution, and assessment of nursing care in surgical settings, adhering to established standards and protocols. This role involves providing direct patient care, taking on educational and leadership roles, and engaging in departmental committees and quality enhancement initiatives. Minimal supervision is required.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Gather and record comprehensive medical and nursing information regarding patient care
- Employ effective interviewing methods to collect patient history
- Administer patient care and treatment utilizing analytical and critical thinking abilities
- Assess care outcomes to ensure patient needs are adequately addressed
- Complete assigned care tasks within designated timeframes
- Take ownership of personal professional development and learning requirements
EDUCATIONAL BACKGROUND, EXPERIENCE, AND REQUIREMENTS
Must hold a valid Registered Nurse (RN) or Advanced Practice Registered Nurse (APRN) license in the State of Florida.
A minimum of one year of recent experience in the operating room is mandatory.
Basic Life Support (BLS) certification is required.
Advanced Life Support (ALS) certification is also necessary.
Proficient computer skills are expected, including familiarity with Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, and Windows operating systems.
