Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Foreperson with CDL Union to join our team at the City of Pittsburgh, PA. As a key member of our Environmental Services department, you will be responsible for supervising and directing the work of assigned refuse and recycling personnel in the collection of solid waste.

Key Responsibilities

Supervise and direct the work of assigned refuse and recycling personnel in the collection of solid waste
Assist in resolving service requests related to solid waste collections
Monitor and follow up on violations of The Pittsburgh Code, Title Six, Sections 601.11, 619, 765.05, etc.
Plan, develop, direct, coordinate, organize and control the materials, equipment and personnel for the effective, efficient and economical attainment of program goals
Assist the supervisor evaluating refuse and recycling routes to improve efficiency

Requirements

One (1) year of full-time experience in refuse collection in the Bureau of Environmental Services of the City of Pittsburgh
Possess a current, valid Commercial Class A or B Motor Vehicle Operator's License with the "L" airbrake restriction lifted from the license
Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and make decisions quickly
Strong communication and interpersonal skills
