Position Overview:
At IPS, we are committed to enhancing the lives of individuals by addressing intricate challenges in the realms of pharmaceutical, biotechnology, and animal health research and production facilities. We are currently seeking a dedicated Lead Process Engineer to become a vital part of our skilled team.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develops initial design outputs such as Process Flow Diagrams and Material and Energy Balances.
- Assesses utility needs for new manufacturing processes and designs utility generation and distribution systems.
- Creates Process P&IDs (preferably utilizing AutoCAD) that incorporate control strategies and CIP/SIP functions as necessary.
- Designs P&IDs for essential utility systems, including WFI, USP Purified water, and Clean Steam.
- Conducts engineering evaluations for the expansion, enhancement, or automation of existing facilities with minimal oversight.
- Generates specifications and performance data sheets for process equipment and instrumentation.
- Utilizes and contributes to the advancement of company design and production tools, including process simulation and smart P&IDs.
- Takes ownership of the process-related components of a segment of a large project or an entire small project, providing technical assistance to the design team.
- Fosters and maintains strong working relationships with clients and members of the IPS design team.
Qualifications:
- Minimum of 10 years of engineering experience with at least 5 years focused on process design, ideally within the Pharmaceutical and Biotechnology sectors.
- Bachelor's Degree in Chemical Engineering.
- Familiarity with cGMPs as they pertain to process design and equipment specifications.
- Willingness to work from the designated office a minimum of three days per week.
This role requires travel based on project locations and is classified as safety-sensitive, involving fieldwork and activities at client sites in construction, process, packaging, manufacturing, research, or other operational areas.
Note: Local candidates are preferred. IPS will not provide sponsorship for this position.
Salary Range - $140,000 - $200,000
