Job Title: ABA Therapist East Chicago

Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate ABA Therapist to join our team at Damar Services in East Chicago. As an ABA Therapist, you will play a vital role in providing intensive autism intervention to children diagnosed with Autism. Your primary responsibility will be to provide direct support to individuals with Autism, using the principles of Applied Behavior Analysis.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide direct services to children diagnosed with Autism, using the principles of Applied Behavior Analysis.
  • Participate in Behavior Skills Training and assist during Practical Functional Assessments.
  • Collaborate with the treatment team, including the Intensive Autism Manager, Intensive Autism Supervisor, and Director of Autism Services, to evaluate clinical services.
  • Utilize data collection to drive and track outcomes, achieving agency initiatives and goals.
  • Ensure that the agency meets its quality improvement, evaluation, and reporting requirements.

Requirements:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent required; Bachelor's degree preferred.
  • Must obtain Registered Behavior Technician (RBT) Certification as outlined by the Behavior Analyst Certification Board (BACB) within 60 days of initial hire.
  • ABA therapy experience and/or experience working with children with Autism is preferred but not required.
  • Ability to use an iPad and computer.
  • Minimum age of 21, depending on program and/or department requirements.
  • No felony convictions or other criminal offenses involving a dependent population.

Essential Job Functions:

Primary functions require sufficient physical ability and mobility to work in an office setting; to stand or sit for prolonged periods of time; to occasionally stoop, bend, kneel, crouch, reach, and twist; to lift, carry, push, and/or pull light to moderate amounts of weight (up to 35lbs); to operate office equipment requiring repetitive hand movement and fine coordination, including use of a computer keyboard; to travel to other locations using various modes of private and commercial transportation; and to verbally communicate to exchange information.

Vision: See in the normal visual range with or without correction.

Hearing: Hear in the normal audio range with or without correction.
