About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Transportation Resident Engineer to join our team in Henderson, NV. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for leading and working on various roadway construction projects, including local streets and interstates, utilities construction, water/wastewater construction, and other public works projects for cities and counties in Las Vegas and Henderson, NV.

Key Responsibilities

As a Transportation Resident Engineer, you will be responsible for:
  • Acting as the owner's representative for construction projects
  • Administering construction contracts, including verifying compliance with plans and specifications, certifying contractor payment applications, and negotiating change orders
  • Providing technical review of material submittals, shop drawings, and as-built documents
  • Conducting project meetings, including preparing agendas and tracking assigned actions
  • Scheduling and coordinating observation of ongoing work and testing and sampling of materials
  • Assigning, leading, supervising, and training internal staff engaged in observation and testing and in related recordkeeping
  • Monitoring contractors' progress against schedule and preparing progress reports
  • Overseeing the compilation of project closeout documents

Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need:
  • A Bachelor's degree in civil engineering or a related field and seven years of related experience, including personnel supervision
  • A P.E. license, or the ability to obtain one within six months of hire
  • Leadership and managerial skills
  • Analytical and organizational skills
  • The ability to supervise field representatives and field office personnel
