Job Title: Pharmacist

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Pharmacist to join our team at Steward Health Care System. As a Pharmacist, you will play a critical role in providing exceptional patient care and ensuring the safe and effective use of medications.

Job Summary:

The Pharmacist will work under the general supervision of the Director of Pharmacy to provide effective, safe, and appropriate drug therapy to patients. This will involve reviewing physicians' orders, dispensing medications, and completing necessary documentation. The Pharmacist will also be responsible for managing workload, ensuring timely delivery of medications, and investigating any medication errors.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Review physicians' orders for errors or problems and obtain clarification as needed
  • Enter orders accurately and completely into the computer
  • Dispense medications correctly and complete necessary documentation
  • Manage workload to ensure timely delivery of medications
  • Investigate any medication errors and take corrective action
  • Accurately record withdrawals and returns or transfers on perpetual inventory sheets
  • Perform daily count and resolve any count discrepancies
  • Verify anesthesiology narcotic box counts and obtain physician or CRNA signature and initials sheets
  • Prepare chemotherapeutic preparations as required
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in Pharmacy from an accredited institution
  • Current MA Pharmacy license required
  • Minimum one to three years experience in a hospital setting preferred
