Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Medical Technologist to join our team at PeaceHealth. As a Medical Technologist, you will be responsible for performing complex laboratory procedures and tests in areas such as blood bank, chemistry, hematology, immunology, and microbiology.

Key Responsibilities
  • Evaluate specimens for testing and apply established criteria for testing and analysis.
  • Perform waived, moderate, and high complexity laboratory tests.
  • Maintain equipment and tools, and perform quality assurance testing and routine calibration.
  • Consult with clinicians, supervisors, and other caregivers on test results, requirements, and testing protocols.
  • Provide guidance and direction to phlebotomy and specimen management teams.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Medical Technology, Clinical Laboratory Science, Chemistry, or Biological Science.
  • 2 years of clinical experience performing high complexity testing in a clinical laboratory department.
  • Medical Technologist or discipline-specific certification within 1 year.
Working Conditions

This position requires the ability to work in a fast-paced laboratory environment, with exposure to biohazard, body fluids, and airborne particles. The ideal candidate will have excellent communication and teamwork skills, and be able to work effectively in a team environment.
