Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Echocardiography Technologist to join our team at Highmark Health. As an Echocardiography Technologist, you will be responsible for performing echocardiographic procedures, including M-Mode, 2D real-time, color flow, pulsed and continuous wave Doppler, and stress echocardiograms.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform Echocardiographic Procedures: Position patients, select anatomic and technical parameters accurately to independently perform ultrasound imaging according to ICAEL protocol efficiently and accurately.
  • Assist with Transesophageal Procedures: Assist the cardiologist with the performance of TEE and stress imaging studies.
  • Utilize Safety and Infection Prevention Standards: Perform appropriate quality control procedures, clean equipment, and maintain adequate supplies for efficient department operations.
  • Operate Laboratory Ultrasound Systems: Operate the laboratory ultrasound systems, information systems, and databases, and enter all required demographic and other data.
Qualifications
  • Education: Associate's Degree or equivalent from a two-year college or technical school, or six months to one year related experience and/or training, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Certifications: Registered Diagnostic Medical Sonographer (RDMS), or Sonography Certification and Registration (S-ARRT), or CCI Registered Technologist, or Registered Diagnostic Cardiac Sonographer (RDCS) ARDMS certified.
  • Clearances: Act 34 Criminal Background Clearance Certificate, Act 33 Child Abuse Clearance Certificate, and Act 73 FBI Fingerprinting Criminal Background Clearance Certificate.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience: 1 to 3 years' experience performing echocardiograms.
  • Certifications: RDCS certification through American Registry for Diagnostic Medical Sonography.
