Operations Coordinator

About the Role

The Operations Coordinator will oversee inventory, logistics, and quality control processes at MLC. This includes reviewing current inventories, providing weekly reports to stakeholders, and coordinating barge loading, shipping, and offloading activities.

Key Responsibilities

  • Review and analyze inventory data to ensure accurate reporting and forecasting.
  • Coordinate with regional terminals to schedule barge loading, shipping, and offloading activities.
  • Train process techs to inspect and report damage to barges, ensuring they are well maintained and in safe operation.
  • Perform accident investigations and maintain safety records for employees, visitors, and contractors.
  • Obtain equipment parts and contractor quotes as needed, generating purchase request documents and checking in supplies and parts.
  • Review and approve variances on invoices submitted for payment, including freight-related invoices.
  • Schedule meetings with visitors, vendors, and employees, arranging for caterers as necessary.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or Equivalent required; Associate's Degree preferred.
  • 5-10 years of administration experience required.
  • Knowledge of safety, environmental, negotiating, state and federal environmental regulations, and lean manufacturing preferred.
  • Proficient in Windows OS, Microsoft Office software, Outlook.
  • Ability to prioritize, plan, and schedule, with a self-motivated and team-oriented approach.
