Job Summary

The Mechanical Assembly Specialist is a key member of our production team at Relevant Industrial, LLC. This role is responsible for assembling and wiring mechanical assemblies, ensuring high-quality products that meet customer expectations.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assemble piping assemblies and supporting structures according to design specifications.
  • Cut, thread, and install pipe fittings, ensuring precise measurements and quality control.
  • Bend tubing and build mounting stands from materials such as Unistrut or welded angle iron, adhering to company standards.
  • Ensure quality control of assemblies through testing and inspection, identifying and addressing any defects or issues.
  • Wire components after mechanical assembly, following established procedures and safety protocols.
  • Verify the accuracy of assemblies based on design specifications, ensuring compliance with company-set standards.
  • Interpret electrical and mechanical schematics, applying knowledge of electrical principles to assembly tasks.
  • Procure necessary production components from internal stock, maintaining inventory levels and optimizing workflow.
  • Ensure assembly completion within allotted time frames, meeting production targets and deadlines.
  • Taping and painting of completed assemblies, adhering to quality control standards.
  • Maintain a clean and organized work area, adhering to company safety and housekeeping standards.
Additional Responsibilities
  • Operate a forklift to move materials and assemblies, load/unload trucks, and support warehouse operations.
  • Provide notification of any deviations in actual hours worked versus estimated hours worked for production, ensuring accurate tracking and reporting.
  • Track hours of all shop labor, including start times, lunch breaks, end times, and overtime, maintaining accurate records for production and payroll purposes.
  • Aid with occasional minor building maintenance, supporting facility upkeep and maintenance.
Objectives
  • Strive to produce work with zero defects, ensuring high-quality products that meet customer expectations.
  • Minimize product rework, reducing waste and optimizing production efficiency.
  • Produce quality valve train and mechanical assemblies, adhering to design specifications and company standards.
  • Maintain a safe, efficient, and friendly work environment, promoting a positive and productive work culture.
Reporting and Accountability
  • The Mechanical Assembly Specialist will report to the Shop Foreman for work assignments and production targets.
  • The Mechanical Assembly Specialist will work with engineering to address design and assembly questions, ensuring accurate interpretation and implementation of design specifications.
