Position Overview:
The Animal Care Attendant plays a crucial role in ensuring a clean, efficient, and healthy environment for the animals being treated or boarded at our facility.
1. Maintaining cleanliness throughout the facility, including kennel areas, treatment rooms, and outdoor spaces.
2. Feeding hospitalized animals and boarders as per their dietary needs.
3. Observing and documenting important information regarding the animals' health, behavior, and habits (such as eating and elimination).
4. Walking animals three times daily to ensure their physical activity.
5. Alerting the Veterinarian or Veterinary Technician/Assistant to any unusual medical or behavioral issues.
6. Cleaning treatment, examination, surgical, and laboratory areas on a daily basis.
7. Managing laundry tasks throughout the day and keeping the laundry area organized.
8. Monitoring and maintaining inventory of kennel supplies, including food and cleaning materials.
9. Assisting the Veterinarian, Receptionist, and Veterinary Technicians/Assistants with various tasks to ensure smooth clinic operations and high-quality client service.
Qualifications and Responsibilities:
• High School diploma or GED is preferred.
• Availability for a flexible schedule, including some weekends and holidays.
• Proficiency in computer skills, particularly with Microsoft Word and Excel.
• Strong communication skills, sound judgment, and the ability to handle stressful situations effectively.
• Physical and mental capability to thrive in a fast-paced and demanding environment.
• Ability to lift over 50 lbs.
• Previous experience in a similar role is advantageous.
