About the Opportunity:

Our client, a reputable health system in Connecticut, is seeking a full-time Inpatient Pharmacist to join their team. This is a great opportunity to work in a hospital setting with a great group of people in the department. There is room to grow and develop your skills in a supportive environment.

Responsibilities:

As an Inpatient Pharmacist, you will be responsible for accurately verifying, preparing, and dispensing medication orders per physician request. You will also provide timely and accurate drug information to healthcare professionals and lay persons when required. Additionally, you will participate in medication counseling sessions for patients by reviewing side effects, indications, and directions for use. You will demonstrate knowledge and skills necessary to provide quality pharmaceutical care to all patients. You will ensure the appropriateness of therapy and dosage for all patient populations, including age-specific care. You will monitor patient therapy in accordance with departmental policies, procedures, protocols, and programs. You will carefully identify, prevent, intervene, and follow up on any medication-related problems, including any actual or potential adverse drug events. You will be responsible for day-to-day management of drug distribution, including all controlled substances, IV compounded sterile medications, extemporaneously compounded medications, repackaged medications, and investigational drugs.

Qualifications:

A BS Pharmacy degree is required, with a PharmD preferred. You must be licensed or eligible for licensure in Connecticut. Inpatient hospital pharmacy experience is preferred.
