As a Senior Corporate Underwriter within PNC's Regional Credit Products Group, you will be responsible for managing a portfolio of corporate finance and middle market clients with credit exposure ranging from 10 to 100 million and beyond.

Key Responsibilities
  • Operate independently while exercising elevated approval authority. Prepare proposals for various transaction types, regardless of complexity, and manage assigned portfolios. Engage with both internal and external clients to provide recommendations for credit structuring. Serve as a subject matter expert in specific asset classes and lead special projects or assignments as needed. Mentor and guide colleagues on best practices and processes.
  • Utilize independent judgment to assess risks and mitigants, preparing proposals and/or scorecards, including risk ratings, by evaluating credit, collateral strength, and financial viability of loan or transaction parties. If applicable, conduct ongoing credit risk management for assigned portfolios. Provide coaching and review the work of other underwriters, stepping in for management as necessary.
  • Engage with internal and external clients and other relevant parties to gather information and clarify any inconsistencies or missing details. Conduct necessary pre-approval and post-approval activities.
  • Identify and confirm all external regulatory requirements, ensuring adherence to internal policies and procedures.
  • Make informed recommendations on credit decisions or execute credit decisions directly, as appropriate.
  • Typically requires a university/college degree with a minimum of 5 years of relevant industry experience. Specific certifications may be required. In lieu of a degree, a comparable combination of education and experience (including military service) may be considered.
