Clinical Speech-Language Pathologist Position in Gallup, NM

Aequor Technologies seeks a highly skilled Clinical Speech-Language Pathologist to join our team. This 13-week assignment offers the opportunity to work with a diverse patient population in a skilled nursing facility setting.

About the Role:
We are looking for a dedicated Speech-Language Pathologist to evaluate and assess speech, language, cognitive-communication, and swallowing disorders in residents of skilled nursing facilities (SNF). The ideal candidate will develop and implement individualized treatment plans to address communication and swallowing deficits, enhancing residents' quality of life.
Responsibilities:
- Evaluate and assess speech, language, cognitive-communication, and swallowing disorders in residents of skilled nursing facilities (SNF).
- Develop and implement individualized treatment plans to address communication and swallowing deficits.
- Provide direct therapy services, including individual and group sessions, to improve speech, language, and swallowing functions.
- Educate residents, families, and caregivers on strategies and techniques to support communication and swallowing needs at home and in the facility.
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams, including physicians, nurses, occupational therapists, and physical therapists, to ensure comprehensive care for residents.
- Conduct regular progress assessments, adjusting treatment plans as necessary to meet residents' evolving needs.
- Document evaluations, treatment plans, progress notes, and discharge summaries in compliance with healthcare regulations and facility policies.
- Participate in care planning meetings, providing expert input on residents' communication and swallowing needs.
- Stay current with advancements in speech-language pathology, participating in continuing education and professional development opportunities.
Requirements:
- Masters degree in Speech-Language Pathology from an accredited program.
- Current state licensure or certification as a Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP).
- Certificate of Clinical Competence in Speech-Language Pathology (CCC-SLP) is preferred.
- A minimum of 1-2 years of experience in a skilled nursing facility or geriatric setting.
