About the Role

We are seeking an experienced attorney to join our team at State Farm Mutual Automobile Insurance Company. As a Trial Attorney, you will play a critical role in our insurance defense practice, handling complex civil litigation cases and advocating for our clients in court.

Key Responsibilities
  • Manage a caseload of civil litigation cases, including No Fault/PIP, Bodily Injury, and Premises Liability litigation
  • Develop and implement trial strategies to achieve favorable outcomes for our clients
  • Conduct thorough research and analysis to support case development and trial preparation
  • Collaborate with colleagues and support staff to ensure effective case management and communication
  • Stay up-to-date with changes in civil procedure, evidence, and insurance law to ensure expertise in these areas
Requirements
  • Juris Doctorate (J.D.) from an American Bar Association (ABA) accredited law school
  • Active license to practice law in Michigan and membership in good standing with the state bar
  • At least 3 years of civil litigation experience, preferably in insurance defense
  • Jury trial experience is a plus
  • Strong automation and technological skills for lawsuit handling and courtroom presentation
  • Experience working in a paperless environment
  • Eligibility to lawfully work in the U.S. immediately
