About the Job

At Solvenow Inc., we're seeking a highly skilled Electrical Engineer to join our team in the design and development of substation projects. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for performing various facets of substation physical design, including yard layout plans, sections, and details, as well as substation protection and control design.

Key Responsibilities
  • Performing facets of substation physical design, including yard layout plans, sections, and details, as well as substation protection and control design.
  • Preparing equipment specifications and providing support for clients during construction.
  • Performing field inspections and compliance documentation, and leading a team of single- or multi-discipline professionals to ensure project success.
  • Presenting designs and proposals to clients, permitting authorities, public interest groups, etc., and corresponding and/or meeting with clients, contractors, and vendors.
  • Participating in project proposal efforts and advancing into leadership roles.
Requirements
  • Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering or related degree from an ABET accredited program.
  • Or Bachelor of Science in Electrical or related Engineering Technology from an ABET accredited program and successful completion of Fundamentals of Engineering (FE) exam.
  • Master of Science degree in Electrical Engineering may be substituted for 1 year experience.
  • 3 years of electrical engineering experience, consulting preferred.
  • Successful completion (i.e., passing) FE or EIT preferred.
  • Strong knowledge in standard engineering techniques and procedures.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to work methodically and analytically in a quantitative problem-solving environment and demonstrated critical thinking skills.
  • Proficient in standard engineering techniques and procedures.
  • Strong computer skills (e.g., Microsoft Office Suite).
  • Strong computer skills include AutoCAD, MicroStation, 2D and 3D rendering programs, and other analysis programs.
  • Strong attention to detail, facilitation, team building, collaboration, organization, and problem-solving skills.
