Position Overview:
The Pediatric Audiology Support Specialist plays a crucial role in delivering hearing assessment services to newborns as part of a comprehensive Universal Newborn Hearing Screening initiative. This position assists Audiologists in evaluating pediatric patients, including those who present challenges during testing, to ensure accurate hearing assessment outcomes. Additionally, the role encompasses essential administrative and clerical functions within the department or service line.

Qualifications:
- Education: High School Diploma or GED is required. Training by a Licensed Audiologist (which may be completed upon hire) is also required.
- Experience: A minimum of one year of successful experience working with children from birth through adolescence is preferred.
- Licensure/Certification: Appropriate state licensure is required.
- Essential Skills: Proficiency in Electronic Medical Records training and the ability to complete both generic and department-specific skills validation and competency assessments. Strong human relations and interpersonal skills are necessary for effective interaction with pediatric patients, including those with complex needs or developmental delays. Excellent verbal and written communication skills are essential, along with proficiency in Word, Excel, and office equipment. Intermediate computer and software application skills are also required.
- Preferred Skills: Familiarity with the unique requirements of infants, experience in handling young infants, and demonstrated comfort in communicating with parents. Ability to problem-solve and adapt techniques as necessary. One year of clerical, secretarial, or office support experience, or a proven ability to perform job functions effectively. Experience in a healthcare setting is also preferred. The role requires the ability to stand, sit, speak, write, see, and hear, as well as interact with patients through various physical gestures and expressions.
