Job Summary

The Section Chief of Geriatrics is a key leadership position within the Department of Medicine at Dartmouth Health. As a physician member of the Section leadership team, you will play a critical role in shaping the strategic direction and operational management of the Section.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement a comprehensive plan for the care of older adults across inpatient, ambulatory, long-term care, rehab, and home settings.
  • Lead the Section in expanding its outreach and creating a system-wide plan to meet the tripartite mission of providing outstanding clinical care, developing a rich educational environment for learners, and creating a milieu for cutting-edge research.
  • Collaborate with the interprofessional leadership team to set goals, objectives, and implementation strategies for the Section.
  • Take responsibility for the quality and quality improvement of patient care, teaching, research, and service in the Section.
  • Engage faculty and staff in understanding and responding creatively to operational and systems challenges.
Requirements
  • Advanced clinical degree (MD or DO)
  • Postgraduate training in residency program
  • Geriatric Fellowship highly preferred
  • NH and VT license or willingness to obtain
  • DEA registration
  • Board Certified or Truly Board Eligible in IM, Geriatric or FM and Geriatrics
