About this job:

This Principal Software Engineer position is part of Broadcom Corporation's VMware subsidiary, responsible for developing and maintaining kernel features for vMotion data migration.

Responsibilities:

  • Research, design, and implement novel operating system techniques to scale vMotion on next-generation hardware and accelerators.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand requirements and translate them into detailed technical specifications.
  • Develop and maintain kernel features for vMotion data migration.
  • Troubleshoot and debug kernel issues related to vMotion data path scaling.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field and 12+ years of experience, or Masters degree and 10+ years of experience.
  • 5+ years of experience in operating systems, kernel development, compute, network, and storage subsystems.
  • Strong understanding of kernel programming, device drivers, kernel modules, and system programming.

  • Competitive salary: $141,000 - $225,000 per year.
