Position Overview: The CNC Laser Cutting Technician is responsible for producing components by operating advanced computer numerical control laser cutting machinery. This role is designated for the second shift, operating from Monday to Thursday, 4:00 pm to 2:30 am. Night shift employees receive a 20% shift differential.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Load components and operate laser systems (Trumpf 5 Axis and/or Mitsubishi 5 Axis)
  • Ensure the uninterrupted production of components that fulfill customer specifications
  • Make minor adjustments to laser programming as needed
  • Set up tooling according to established work instructions
  • Conduct inspections of finished components using precision measuring tools such as micrometers, indicators, calipers, and comparators
  • Uphold quality standards through a thorough understanding of the Quality Management System
  • Monitor and document operational performance issues, providing constructive feedback to supervisors
  • Foster and maintain effective working relationships with colleagues, supervisors, and other personnel
  • Perform additional tasks as assigned by supervisors

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or GED is required; post-secondary education in CNC preferred
  • Proficient understanding of laser machinery, tooling, and operational processes
  • Excellent verbal communication and problem-solving abilities
  • Strong attention to detail and capacity to manage complex tasks
  • Able to thrive in a customer-oriented, deadline-driven environment while maintaining a positive demeanor
