Job Summary
The Business Office Representative Clerk will provide support to the facility by performing various business office functions as assigned.
This role requires strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and excellent communication skills.
The ideal candidate will have a background in healthcare and experience in surgery scheduling procedures.

Key Responsibilities
- Schedule surgeries in the surgery template in the computer
- Handle calls from physician's offices regarding scheduling patients, surgeries, or associated calls
- Answer phone calls in a pleasant manner and deal with physician offices and patients' needs expeditiously
- Perform pre-registration and obtain authorization from the physician's office prior to surgery
- Complete necessary paperwork for registration and use the computer system to generate information for surgical/special procedures
- Maintain log for cancelled appointments
- Perform various clerical duties such as photocopying forms, reports, patient information, mailing surveys, preparing patient charts, faxing forms, and retrieving faxes as needed
- Maintain a clean and orderly surgery scheduling area

Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent required; associate degree or equivalent preferred
- Minimum three years of experience in healthcare and minimum one-year experience in surgery scheduling procedures preferred
- Ability to work independently and function within a team
- Basic knowledge of surgery scheduling, receptionist, and registration responsibilities
- Ability to handle stress
- Flexibility with hours and ability to work whatever shift is covered
