Position Overview: The Investment Operations Specialist will play a crucial role in supporting the operational components of the investment management processes, ensuring seamless and efficient daily interactions with both internal and external stakeholders. Key Responsibilities:
- Trade Execution & Monitoring: Assist in executing trades across various asset classes, including equities, fixed income, and alternative investments. Monitor trade confirmations and address any discrepancies that arise.
- Account Reconciliation: Conduct daily and monthly reconciliations of client accounts, covering cash, positions, and transactions. Investigate and resolve any discrepancies or issues that may occur.
- Portfolio Management Support: Contribute to the upkeep of portfolio records, including adjustments to investment strategies and allocations. Provide assistance in generating performance reports and client statements.
- Client Service: Serve as a primary contact for client inquiries regarding account transactions, balances, and investment performance. Ensure timely and accurate responses to client requests.
- Compliance & Documentation: Guarantee that all operational processes adhere to regulatory standards and firm policies. Maintain precise and current records of all transactions and client interactions.
- System Management: Aid in the management and upkeep of investment management software and tools. Assist in troubleshooting and resolving any system-related challenges.
- Process Improvement: Identify opportunities to enhance operational processes and implement best practices to improve efficiency and accuracy.
Qualifications:
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or a related discipline.
- Experience: A minimum of 1-3 years of experience in investment operations, fund administration, or a related field, ideally within an RIA or financial services setting.
- Technical Skills: Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint). Familiarity with investment management systems and software is advantageous.
- Analytical Skills: Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities. Detail-oriented with a commitment to accuracy and thoroughness.
- Communication: Exceptional verbal and written communication skills. Ability to engage effectively with clients, colleagues, and vendors.
- Regulatory Knowledge: Understanding of regulatory requirements and compliance related to investment operations and financial services.
- Organizational Skills: Strong organizational and time management abilities with the capacity to prioritize tasks and manage multiple responsibilities.
