PROGRAM DESCRIPTION: This position supports the U.S. Fleet Forces Command (USFF) Headquarters at a Government facility/site. As part of the USFF Communications and Information Systems Division (N6) Support Team, you will play a vital role in enhancing Navy Fleet Readiness and contributing to Homeland Security initiatives. The team engages in various information technology (IT) support activities, including but not limited to Program Management, Network Engineering, Maritime Operations Center/Tactical Systems support, Video Teleconferencing and Audio/Visual assistance, Portal Management, Application Development, IT Business Process support, Satellite Communications Planning, Information Assurance (IA)/Certification and Accreditation, Database Administration, Communications Security/EKMS, and general IT support, alongside the maintenance and enhancement of developed applications/software.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage all USFF owned/managed Secret, Coalition, and Unclassified network support systems.
  • Configure and deploy new clients on the locally managed networks.
  • Administer and configure application servers, including Single Sign On, Identity Management, Public Key Infrastructure Management, Cryptographic Log On, Server Replication, Backups, and Load Balancing.
  • Provide on-site operational and functional support for application end users and support personnel, focusing on application deployment, active directory management, data recovery services, and client hardware/software support.
  • Analyze and offer guidance for application architectural enhancements, including IA/security, high availability, scalability, capacity planning, network design, cable plant, and IP management.
  • Ensure the security integrity of systems and applications by maintaining and updating C&A packages and adhering to current IA policies.
  • Implement Defense in Depth methodologies to enhance the security of all associated networks and systems.
  • Provide 24x7 on-call technical support related to operational support of USFF.
Qualifications:

  • BA/BS in a related field with no experience, or AA/AS in a related field or Computer Network Administration Certification with 6 years of relevant experience. Alternatively, 8 years of related experience in lieu of formal education.
  • Proficient in systems administration of Microsoft Windows server and desktop operating systems, Microsoft Office SharePoint Services, and Microsoft SQL Server.
  • Familiarity with Defense Information Systems Agency published STIG requirements and the implementation/compliance process.
  • Understanding of CND compliance requirements for all managed networks and systems.
  • Experience in the operations and maintenance of the DOD's HBSS.
  • Knowledge of virtualization technologies such as VMWare.
  • Must possess an active secret clearance.
