- Program Design: Design and implement personalized exercise programs that are tailored to each client's needs and goals, incorporating YMCA and industry-recognized protocols.
- Client Progression: Monitor and track client progress, providing regular feedback and adjustments to their exercise programs as needed.
- Communication: Communicate effectively with clients, colleagues, and management, ensuring seamless communication and collaboration.
- Equipment Maintenance: Maintain a clean and safe environment, reporting any equipment issues or concerns to management.
- Professional Development: Stay up-to-date with industry developments and best practices, attending training sessions and workshops as needed.
- Certifications: Current CPR/AED certification and a nationally recognized certification in personal training (e.g., ACE, AFAA, NASM, ACSM, NSCA).
- Education: High school diploma or equivalent required; degree in exercise science, kinesiology, or related field preferred.
- Experience: Minimum 2 years of experience as a personal trainer or in a related field.
- Skills: Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, ability to work independently and as part of a team, and a strong commitment to providing exceptional customer service.
- Physical Demands: Ability to walk, stand, and sit for long periods, with frequent bending, kneeling, and lifting up to 50 pounds.
- Environmental Factors: Potential exposure to communicable diseases and bodily fluids, with a requirement to administer first aid as needed.
