Job Summary:

The Railroad Train Planner is responsible for coordinating the terminal's train planning to ensure retention of service levels and satisfy customer requirements. This involves scheduling and coordinating intermodal train planning activities, ensuring accuracy in decision-making, and maintaining good relations with major contacts.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Scheduling and Coordination: Schedule and coordinate intermodal train planning activities to ensure efficient and effective operations.
  • Accuracy and Attention to Detail: Ensure accuracy in decision-making and maintain attention to detail to prevent errors and delays.
  • Communication and Relations: Maintain good relations with major contacts, including the Union Pacific Railroad Manager of Intermodal Train Planning, to stay informed about intermodal conditions and secure information about inbound train arrivals.
  • Terminal Awareness: Maintain awareness and organization within the rail yard, including attention to ground surface conditions.
  • Other Duties: Perform other duties as assigned by management.

Requirements:

  • Valid Driver's License: Possess a valid driver's license.
  • Background Check and Drug Test: Pass a 7-year background check and a drug test.
  • No GED or High School Diploma Required: No GED or high school diploma is required.
