We are seeking a highly skilled Registered Dietitian to join our team at Penn Highlands Healthcare. As a key member of our healthcare team, you will play a vital role in providing exceptional nutrition care to our patients.

Job Summary

The successful candidate will be responsible for coordinating all phases of nutrition care, including nutrition assessment, care planning, monitoring, education, and counseling of hospitalized patients and long-term care facility and outpatients in a variety of settings. You will perform duties in support of and in compliance with performance improvement plans, The Joint Commission, and other licensing and regulatory agencies.

Responsibilities
  • Coordinate nutrition care for patients in various settings, including hospitals and long-term care facilities
  • Develop and implement individualized nutrition care plans
  • Monitor patient progress and adjust care plans as needed
  • Provide education and counseling to patients and their families
  • Collaborate with healthcare teams to ensure comprehensive patient care
Requirements
  • Four-year Bachelor's degree in Food and Nutrition, Dietetics, Nutritional Sciences, Human Nutrition, or comparable major
  • Successful completion of a coordinated program or dietetic internship of not less than 900 hours under the supervision of a registered dietitian
  • Registered Dietitian (RD) by The Commission on Dietetic Registration (candidates eligible for registration may be considered with the understanding that registration will be achieved within 60 days of hire)
  • Licensed Dietitian/Nutritionist (LDN) by the PA Board of Dietetics and Nutrition
