Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Construction Inspector to join our team at the City of Orlando. As a Construction Inspector, you will be responsible for performing technical field inspections and office work to ensure compliance with national, state, and local codes governing the design and construction of various City projects.

Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct thorough inspections of buildings, structures, and roadways to ensure compliance with codes and regulations.
  • Review and interpret construction drawings and plans to ensure accuracy and compliance.
  • Identify and report any deviations or non-compliance issues to management.
  • Generate detailed reports and descriptions of work progress and inspections.
  • Collaborate with contractors and project managers to resolve any issues or concerns.
Requirements
  • Associate's Degree in a related field, such as construction management or engineering.
  • Minimum of 6 months of experience in site construction or public works construction management.
  • ACI Level I (Field Testing Technician) certification or equivalent.
  • FDOT Asphalt Paving Technician - Level 1 certification and FDOT Earthwork Construction Inspection - Level 1 certification.
  • Valid Florida Driver's License.
  • Ability to pass a background check, including a polygraph.
Benefits

This is a full-time contract position with the same benefits as regular full-time employees. Most contracts are renewable for terms of one year.
