At Varsity Brands, we're committed to excellence in every aspect of our business. As a Maintenance Technician, you'll play a critical role in ensuring the optimal performance of our equipment, facilities, and production processes.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform routine maintenance and inspections on manufacturing equipment, conveyor systems, and machinery to prevent downtime and ensure efficiency.
  • Diagnose and repair complex mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic issues to minimize equipment downtime and improve overall performance.
  • Develop and implement predictive maintenance strategies to enhance equipment reliability and reduce maintenance costs.
  • Support facility maintenance, including building repairs, plumbing, lighting, and other infrastructure components to maintain a safe and well-maintained working environment.
  • Collaborate with maintenance team members, production staff, and other departments to prioritize and address maintenance needs efficiently.
  • Provide guidance and mentorship to entry-level technicians, fostering a culture of continuous learning and development.
  • Maintain comprehensive and accurate records of maintenance activities, including repairs, inspections, and equipment performance metrics.
  • Generate reports on equipment reliability, maintenance costs, and recommended improvements for management review.
  • Support the management of spare parts inventory, ensuring availability of critical components and optimizing inventory levels to reduce downtime.
  • Work with procurement to identify and source necessary parts and materials.
  • Enforce and adhere to safety protocols and regulations, actively promoting a culture of safety within the maintenance team.
  • Participate in safety audits and inspections to identify and address potential hazards.
Requirements:

  • High school diploma or equivalent; additional technical certifications or vocational training preferred.
  • Proven experience in maintenance roles within a manufacturing and warehouse environment.
  • In-depth knowledge of mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic systems.
  • Proficiency in reading technical manuals, blueprints, and schematics.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and ability to make decisions under pressure.
  • Must be able to work independently with little supervision, or as part of a team.
  • Proficient in using computerized maintenance management systems (CMMS).
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and adapt to changing priorities.
Physical Requirements:

The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand for long periods of time. Repetitive movement of the body is required on a regular basis. The position requires lifting of no less than 15-50 lbs. on a regular basis. Must be able to tolerate working in a non-climate-controlled environment.
