Job Title: Medical Director, Family Medicine

Job Summary:

The Medical Director, Family Medicine is a key leadership position responsible for the day-to-day supervision of care services in the Family Medicine department. This role combines direct service with hands-on administrative responsibilities in support of all Clinical programs.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Supervise clinicians within the department, including hiring, corrective action counseling, and terminations as needed.
  • Assume clinical responsibility in conjunction with the Chief Medical Officer, providing regular, ongoing, and special reporting in functional areas.
  • Foster an environment that promotes TVHC's Quality Initiatives and supports removing barriers to achieving quality in medical care.
  • Perform health assessments, including thorough history and physical examinations, ordering or performing diagnostic tests, medication orders, and evaluation of psychosocial and family aspects of the situation.
  • Provide direct clinical medical services in the area of board-certified (or board-eligible) medical specialty, in accordance with the highest applicable standards of medical and professional practice.
  • Lead the department, providing leadership, vision, and direction, including assisting in the formulation and/or revision of medical program/clinical services policies and protocols.
  • Assist in the design, implementation, and evaluation of TVHC's clinical programs, working collaboratively with other departments for the successful integration of services.

Requirements:

  • Must have a license as an MD, DO, NP, or PA, and board certification within the discipline required.
  • Current, valid license to practice medicine in the State of California, including DEA license (if applicable), and CPR required.
  • Minimum five (5) years of clinical experience required.
  • Minimum two (2) years of experience supervising providers and other clinical staff required.
