We are seeking a highly skilled VP of Credit Portfolio Analysis to join our team at Banc of California As a key member of our credit risk management team, you will be responsible for analyzing and evaluating credit risk management processes for loan originations and portfolio management. Your advanced knowledge of credit risk management techniques, credit regulatory guidance, and bank credit administration will help ensure that our bank's assets are managed and evaluated in a manner consistent with corporate policies and regulatory standards.

About the Role:

The successful candidate will have extensive experience in credit analysis, risk management, and regulatory compliance. You will analyze various types of commercial and consumer credits, evaluate compliance with credit policies, standards, and procedures, and identify exceptions to policy. Additionally, you will provide consultation and expert advice to management, deal with complex problems, and work with little to no supervision.

Responsibilities:
  • Develops and implements a continuous monitoring program of lending unit portfolios between comprehensive portfolio reviews.
  • Identifies, recommends, and affects process changes in credit portfolio management activities.
  • Recommends credit policy changes/enhancements where warranted.
  • Correctly identifies weaknesses in portfolio management practices.
  • Opines on management's ability to adequately administer credit risk loan exposures.
  • Analyzes and reviews credits within the bank's product suite.
  • Evaluates and monitors compliance with Credit Policies, Standards, and Procedures.
  • Identifies exceptions to policy and surfaces unapproved policy and underwriting exceptions.
  • Will review, document, and track corrective action to ensure timely remediation.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's Degree from an accredited College or University.
  • A minimum of seven (7) years commercial lending/credit risk management experience.
  • Minimum 5 years' experience in credit examination, credit administration, or as a commercial lender, regulator, or credit officer recommended.
  • Completion of Credit Risk Certification or a formal credit program at a commercial bank preferred.
  • Experience of working within credit databases for analysis purposes and to formulate reports preferred.

Estimated salary: $114,000 - $156,000 USD; Final salary to be determined by education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities of the applicant, internal equity, and alignment with geographic/market data.
