Survey Field Support Specialist

Survey Field SupportEMC Engineering Services is seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented individual to join our team as a Survey Field Support. This entry-level position is an excellent opportunity to gain hands-on experience in surveying land and develop skills in a dynamic and fast-paced environment.
Key Responsibilities:- Holds level or stadia rod at designated points to assist in determining elevations and position of stakes for mapmaking, construction, land, and other surveys.
- Calls out readings or records readings, as directed.
- Measures distance between survey points with steel or cloth tape or surveyor's chain.
- Places stakes at designated points and drives them into ground at specified elevation.
- Cuts and clears brush and trees from line of survey.
- Performs related duties as assigned by supervisor.
- High school diploma or GED required.
- Equivalent combination of 3 months of education and relevant experience preferred.
- Ability to effectively communicate with internal and external customers.
- Valid driver's license required - Must be insurable by fleet insurer; driving history will be reviewed by agent and underwriter.
- Must be able to pass a background check as required by military, industrial, port, and other client sites.
- Ability to safely and successfully perform the essential job functions consistent with the ADA, FMLA and other federal, state and local standards.
- Ability to maintain regular, punctual attendance consistent with the ADA, FMLA and other federal, state and local standards.
- Regularly work on repetitive tasks.
- Regularly use hands and fingers to handle, control, or feel objects.
- Regularly hold the arm and hand in one position or hold the hand steady while moving the arm.
- Regularly see details of objects that are less than a few feet away.
- Regularly speak clearly so listeners can understand.
- Regularly understand the speech of another person.
