Your Role:
The Onsite Clinical Advisor plays a pivotal role in supporting Care Management (CM) and Clinical Documentation Integrity (CDI). This position acts as a bridge between the CDI and CM teams and the medical staff, as well as serving as the medical liaison for payer-related issues. The Clinical Advisor is tasked with educating and advising members of the Care Management, Clinical Documentation, and Managed Care departments, while also collaborating with various disciplines to enhance clinical documentation, patient safety, and quality outcomes.
The Clinical Advisor is responsible for conducting clinical reviews of utilization and quality assurance concerning inpatient care, outpatient care/observation stays, and referral services. This individual serves as a key contact for clinicians, external providers, contracted health insurance payors, and regulatory bodies. Additionally, the Clinical Advisor provides expert clinical knowledge and strategic direction to support medical management initiatives, promoting the delivery of high-quality, patient-centered, and cost-effective healthcare.

Qualifications Required for Success:
LICENSURE, CERTIFICATION, OR REGISTRATION:
· Valid State of Florida physician license
· Board certification and eligibility for hospital medical staff membership
EDUCATION REQUIRED:
· Graduate from an accredited medical school and residency program
EDUCATION PREFERRED:
· Master’s degree in Business or Healthcare Administration or a related field
EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:
· Minimum of five years of recent clinical practice experience
EXPERIENCE PREFERRED:
· Familiarity with hospital Utilization Management/Medicare Regulations
· At least two years of experience as a Clinical Advisor
· Three or more years of leadership experience
