About the Job

Aequor Technologies is seeking a skilled Registered Nurse to join our team in the Medical-Surgical unit. As a key member of our healthcare team, you will provide comprehensive nursing care to patients with a wide range of medical conditions and post-operative care.

Responsibilities
  • Monitor and assess patient vital signs, symptoms, and overall condition, documenting findings accurately and promptly.
  • Administer medications, IV therapies, and other treatments as prescribed by physicians, ensuring proper dosages and adherence to protocols.
  • Collaborate with a multidisciplinary healthcare team to develop, implement, and evaluate individualized care plans for each patient.
  • Educate patients and their families about medical conditions, treatment plans, and post-discharge care, ensuring understanding and compliance.
  • Respond to medical emergencies, initiating appropriate interventions to stabilize patients and prevent complications.
  • Maintain a clean and organized environment, adhering to infection control policies and procedures to ensure patient safety.
  • Assist with the preparation of patients for surgeries, procedures, or diagnostic tests, providing emotional support and information as needed.
  • Perform routine administrative tasks such as updating patient records, scheduling follow-up appointments, and coordinating care with other departments.
Requirements
  • Strong understanding of medical-surgical nursing practices, including patient care, medication administration, and emergency response.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to effectively interact with patients, families, and healthcare team members.
  • Proficiency with electronic health records (EHR) and hospital information systems for accurate documentation and data management.
  • Ability to perform physical tasks such as lifting and transferring patients, moving medical equipment, and standing for long periods.
  • Active [STATE] Registered Nurse (RN) License in good standing.
  • A minimum of 2 years of experience as a Med Surg Nurse or in a similar role.
  • Certification in Basic Life Support (BLS). Certification in Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS). Experience with EPIC or similar charting systems.
