We are seeking a skilled Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) to join our team at UofL Health. As an LPN on our Neuro/Trauma Progressive Care Unit, you will play a vital role in providing high-quality patient care and contributing to a positive patient experience.
Responsibilities- Provide patient care utilizing the nursing process, collaborating with the interdisciplinary team to ensure effective, safe, and quality care.
- Complete comprehensive daily assessments on assigned patients, prioritizing care based on nursing assessment of patient needs.
- Deliver direct patient care based on physician orders and nursing interventions, documenting interventions and progress towards patient goals.
- Administer and document prescribed medications, ensuring accurate and timely administration.
- Assist in implementation of teaching programs for individual patients, developing and delivering education to meet patient and/or family educational goals.
- Communicate effectively with other members of the interdisciplinary team, reporting patient information/status according to guidelines established in policy and procedure.
- Maintain patient care areas in a neat and clean manner, ensuring equipment is properly functioning and following universal precautions for all patients.
- Completion of an LPN program at an accredited school of nursing.
- Current license to practice as an LPN in the Commonwealth of Kentucky.
- CPR/BLS certification required upon hire.
- Ability to utilize computer-based documentation systems for clinical documentation and communication technology for organization communication and education requirements.
