About the Job

We are seeking a talented Security Solutions Engineer II to join our AWS Security team. As part of this role, you will be responsible for solving complex security challenges at a massive scale, working with data from millions of sources, and collaborating with customers, engineers, and security partners to develop features, author technical designs, and contribute to product strategy.

About the Team

Our team provides AWS service teams with data on out-of-date Operating System (OS) software across millions of hosts per day. We provide OS software patch-status and remediation SLAs to help service teams understand what they need to do to secure their fleets, how to prioritize their efforts, and how they can stay compliant with internal and external expectations.

Key Responsibilities

  • Use knowledge and skill to make quick decisions and execute them to meet the team's patching visibility goals with guidance from leadership.
  • Influence the outcome of architecture and design efforts across the team, enhancing current products, and in developing new service offerings in support of AWS Security goals.
  • Work with customers, stakeholders, and peers to understand the business and customer value of our team's software to ensure we deliver the right solutions to help them achieve their security goals.
  • Identify and execute on opportunities to improve the team's operations to continuously enhance customer experience and earn their trust.
  • Take action to improve the stability, reliability, and performance of the service both independently and in coordination with peers.
  • Provide meaningful feedback to others through active participation in the code review process.

Requirements

  • 3+ years of non-internship professional software development experience
  • 2+ years of non-internship design or architecture (design patterns, reliability, and scaling) of new and existing systems experience
  • Experience programming with at least one software programming language

Preferred Qualifications

  • 3+ years of full software development life cycle, including coding standards, code reviews, source control management, build processes, testing, and operations experience
  • Bachelor's degree in computer science or equivalent
